All About Me

Hi I’m Diana Pedersen, a qualified Naturopath and dedicated practitioner of holistic medicine. My practice, The Health Staircase Naturopathic Clinic is nestled in Mother Nature’s little piece of Paradise in Omokoroa near Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty. It’s here that you will discover how I can help you to bridge the gap between holistic and western medicine while providing a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which you can heal and return to optimal health, at your own pace, one step at a time.

Naturopathy identifies the underlying cause of disease

Recognised as the forerunner of modern medicine and practiced Worldwide, Naturopathy looks at the whole person, taking into consideration all of the systems in the body when trying to identify the underlying cause of illness.

As a Naturopath I evaluate every aspect of your body including your mind and emotions, your diet and lifestyle. I will help you to find the root cause of your ill health,  then go on to educate and empower you to take back control of your body’s self-healing so you can achieve your full potential once again. I’m qualified to advise you on herbal medicine, nutrition, nutritional supplements and lifestyle adjustments as well as homeobotanical formulas, essential oils, flower remedies and tissue salts.

For children, these sessions involve both the child and the parent and consider a wide range contributors to your child’s health.

The difference between Naturopathy and Western medicine

Patient:

Middle aged woman

Health complaint:

Osteoarthritis in her hands.

Traditional allopathic approach:

Examine the inflammation in her hands and prescribe pain relief and anti-inflammatories.

Naturopathic approach:

Investigate systemic inflammation and the function of the digestive system, analyse her diet and check for food intolerances and body acidity.

Give dietary recommendations and prescribe nutritional supplements and herbal medicine  to clean the blood, increase circulation, improve digestion, reduce pain and minimise inflammation.
