An unexplained illness led me to Naturopathy
As a child I had a passion for food and cooking. This evolved into a strong interest in food and nutrition and led to a successful career as a highly qualified Chef. Then one day, I unexpectedly became extremely ill. I spent the years that followed, in and out of Waikato Hospital, having test after test whilst being prescribed a plethora of toxic medications.
I was young and I was afraid. I desperately wanted to know why I was so sick and to find someone who could ‘fix me’.
Eventually, I received a diagnosis of a rare autoimmune disease, which was to change my life forever. Once on the appropriate life-saving treatment, I began the long road to recovery. I am eternally grateful to those very caring doctors and surgeons, who helped me stay alive to share my story.
My experience sent me on a new journey to find complementary (not alternative) Natural Health options to improve my own health and lifestyle. It soon turned into a passion and I decided to retrain to become a Naturopathic Practitioner at the Naturopathic College of New Zealand. Qualifying with an Advanced Diploma in Health Science (Naturopathy and Nutrition), I am now a proud member of the Naturopaths and Medical Herbalists of New Zealand NMHNZ.
Your body can heal itself naturally – let me show you how…..
Today I practice from my own natural health clinic, The Health Staircase in Omokoroa, near Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty. Here I provide a safe and nurturing environment for you to heal and recover at your own pace, step by step. Drawing upon the natural healing power of the body to heal itself, I love to educate and empower my patients to take control of their own personal health and wellbeing.
